Publishing your app

When you have successfully built and seen your Prototype App using the PIN code you can build your final app files on Reptile.

In the current Alpha test stage you can generate an Android APK file.

In the Finalise section you need to enter the name of your app and hit Save

The Save button will then become a Build button. Press this and your app will start building. While it is processing the buttons will become inactive.

Once it has finished they will be active and you can download the APK file, or get a link and copy it to your clipboard.

Email the link to a mail account you can open on your Android phone or tablet and following the instructions to download and install the file.

You are now running a native Android app which you have automatically built!

At this stage in the testing process that is as far as we go. But in January you will be able to:

Plus there will be more widgets, features and buttons you can add. You will also be able to create an iOS app and publish to the Apple store.

Both stores - Google and Apple - require you to have a store account to be an app owner and publisher. Anyone can create an Android test app without a store account - you just need this before you can make your app available to the world.

But Apple says you need to have an Apple Developer Account before you can create a test iOS app. So Reptile can only create test builds for users who input their Apple Developer Details.
